Kamala Harris Leads Trump on Climate and Energy Policy Support, Poll Shows
As the U.S. presidential election draws closer, attention is increasingly focused on how Vice President Kamala Harris compares with former President Donald Trump on climate and energy policy.
According to a recent poll conducted by Climate Power and Data for Progress, Harris holds a clear advantage over Trump on climate- and energy-related issues—an important factor as the election approaches. The findings highlight stark differences between the candidates, particularly among younger voters, who are expected to play a decisive role in determining the outcome.
The poll shows that nearly 70% of voters believe the next president should continue investing in clean energy manufacturing, a view that cuts across party lines. This position is supported by half of Republican voters, two-thirds of independents, and 71% of voters aged 18 to 34. The breadth of this support underscores the growing political importance of clean energy.
When voters were asked specifically about Harris as the likely Democratic nominee, 62% said she should continue investing in clean energy to build on the climate initiatives launched under the Biden–Harris administration. This level of backing suggests that Harris’s commitment to expanding clean energy resonates strongly with a broad segment of the electorate.
